Global Warming Ranks Last on Public's List of Priorities
January 25, 2010A study performed by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press found that addressing global warming is the least important public policy priority, with only 28 percent rating it as a "top priority."
Meanwhile, the economy (83 percent) and jobs (81 percent) ranked first and second. About half (49 percent) say energy is a top priority, down from 60 percent a year ago.
The Wisconsin Legislature is currently weighing global warming legislation (AB 649/SB 450). Public hearings on those bills begin this week.
