Welcome to Hamilton Consulting Regulatory Watch!
Welcome to the Hamilton Consulting Regulatory Watch, a web site for timely updates and analyses of federal and Wisconsin regulatory programs. Our focus is on energy, climate change, air quality, water quality, and other policies that may affect your business or practice.
Many lobbying firms focus only on the legislative process, but the lawyers and lobbyists at The Hamilton Consulting Group have for decades been monitoring and influencing regulatory initiatives. We understand that when the Legislature grants an agency regulatory authority, the subsequent rulemaking provides the all important "meat on the bones."
At this time, a top priority for our firm, our clients and this site are far-reaching policies relating to Wisconsin Global Warming Legislation.
State Senate Bill 450 and State Assembly Bill 649, which implement the recommendations of Governor Doyle’s Global Warming Task Force, were introduced in the Legislature on Jan. 6, 2009.
Wisconsin Legislative Committees Wrap Up Hearings on Climate Change Legislation
Public hearings on the Wisconsin Climate Change bill have wrapped up, with final testimony heard on Feb. 15. It is expected that legislators will begin making changes to the more controversial provisions of the bill. Hamilton Consulting Regulatory Watch will continue to provide updates as the legislation progresses. The session’s final floor period is April 22, 2010.
